About the exhibition
Closed since 2018, the Te Fare Iamanaha Museum will reopen its doors to the public on March 4, 2023, presenting Polynesia in a new building with contemporary architecture.
Through a thematic and geographic tour, the 600 or so objects in the collections illustrate the natural environment of Fenua and allow the visitor to navigate from archipelago to archipelago to discover the Marquesan, Austral, Tuamotu, Society and Gambier cultures.
The project involved about 515 objects of daily life, the natural environment, fishing, etc... A team of a dozen people with different skills worked throughout the 4 short sessions of intervention on site between March 2022 and February 2023.
